3D Scanning and Reverse Engineering

We 3D scan parts whose drawings have been lost, that can no longer be sourced or that need improvement, and convert them into production-ready CAD models.

From physical part to digital model

The part's surface is captured with a 3D scanner to produce point cloud and mesh data. This data cannot be used directly for manufacturing; it is remodeled in engineering software into a clean, dimensionable and editable CAD model.

Engineering, not just copying

On worn or deformed parts, scan data does not accurately reflect the original design. We evaluate the functional dimensions and build the model according to the design intent. If requested, the part can be improved and optimized for moldability or machinability.

From model to production

With the finished model, the part can be CNC machined, 3D printed as a prototype or mass-produced through a plastic injection mold. Because all these steps take place in the same workshop, you work with a single point of contact from scan data to finished product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which files will I receive after scanning?+

Depending on your needs, we deliver STL (mesh) data and a cleaned-up CAD model in STEP/IGES format, plus technical drawings on request.

Do I need to bring the part to your workshop?+

You can bring the part to our workshop or send it by courier. For large parts, please contact us.

Can broken or worn parts be scanned?+

Yes. Missing and worn areas are reconstructed during modeling, taking into account the part's function and its mating parts.

Can you manufacture the scanned part?+

Yes. Once the model is complete, we can CNC machine the part, 3D print a prototype or build a mold and produce it by injection molding.
